My Education Background
My family has a strong tradition of higher education. My grandfather was an educator and later Head of District Education before 1947, while my father worked in local government and sponsored the studies of many orphans and relatives. All my siblings and extended family pursued university education, with some graduating from institutions in the USA and UK.
I myself served 23 years as an Army officer, including roles as Weapons Instructor and Chief of Staff at a Training Center, before practicing law. I immigrated to Canada mainly to provide my children superior educational opportunities—three graduated from Alberta universities and two from back home.
My daughter is serving as a teacher in the city of Fort McMurray for a long ttime. As a father and grandfather I see the wider picture of school board issues involving parents, teachers and students.
