- Muslims for Fort McMurray
I established a non-profit organization called Muslims for Fort McMurray. Each time I spoke at Council about charity and giving, I felt that our Muslim community should have a dedicated fund to support our town directly.
While Markaz ul Islam (our local Muslim centre) continues its valuable efforts—such as food bank donations and community assistance—I wanted to focus on initiatives exclusively benefiting Fort McMurray.
A few months ago, I began collecting contributions and have since donated jewelry gifts to the Cancer Society, Autism Society, St. Aidan’s Society, and the Food Bank.
